goldenspines's Review
Baccano! So good they gave it an official exclamation point in its title. It does cause quite a ruckus in its own right. Set in America during the Prohibition era, this series filled with immortal alchemists, mafia families, and idiot thieves grabs you from the beginning and will never let you go.

The music especially suits the series well throughout. It starts with a loud, fast paced trumpet in its Opening theme and jumps around from slow blues on the piano, to tense violins and other string instruments.

Both the sub and dub of this anime are excellent.

Be warned, the violence in this anime is not for the faint of heart. It ranges from people being filled with bullet holes to one character's face dragging against train tracks. It's not a blood filled anime, but it doesn't pull any punches either.

The only theological themes that could cause concern would be the idea as well as the fact of immortality. It's a basic and important element in the story.

Since this anime is set during prohibition Era, there is some reference to alcohol and some characters do smoke. There is also occasional swearing in the series. both in sub and dub.

Baccano! is a series that can't be fully explained in simple text. It starts out blurry, but the longer you watch, the more you see details, discover secrets, and learn lessons. It's a wild ride, but well worth the journey.
