Review: I loved the first season, and I'm pleased to say that this series is even better. The animation quality has noticeably improved. The new characters, Xelloss and Martina are welcome additions. I love how Xelloss constantly drops hints but never tells them everything they need to know. Martina is also a good addition. In any other anime, her constant bumbling would be annoying, but because this is a parody, she fits right in.

The series is just excellent, especially in the last two episodes, which I refuse to spoil. Definitely the most disturbing part of the series for more concerned Christians would be the words which Lina recites to summon the Ragna Blade, which really sounds like pure poetry to me. Also there is a mass use of Spoiler: mind-control if anyone just so happens to find that hard to watch. |

Slayers Next is the highest achievement of an already good franchise bringing back the lighthearted parody of the popular fantasy tropes found in role-playing games. However, Slayers is not one of those parodies that cruelly laughs at its subject; rather, it laughs with it, weaving a complex and thrilling fantasy plot while lampooning the details. |
