Brief Description:
Ganta is the only survivor after a mysterious man in red slaughters a classroom full of teenagers. He's framed for the carnage, sentenced to die, and locked away in the most twisted prison ever built: Deadman Wonderland. And then it gets worse.

At Deadman Wonderland, convicts are forced into brutal death matches for the amusement of the masses, the cheers of the crowd drowning out the screams of the dismembered. Even when Ganta befriends Shiro, an unusual female inmate, his dark fate crushes all hope —until he discovers the strange ability to wield his spilled blood as a weapon. Ganta learns his new skill might be related to the murderous man in red and uncovers disturbing secrets that could expose those who stole his freedom. Deadman's Wonderland is a great Anime to watch if you can handle blood and gore. Spoiler: The main power used in the Anime has to do with blood The story line is amazing, and something new no one has ever done before. There is little to no nudity in the Anime, and the biggest problematic theological theme is that Spoiler: the blood powers used in the anime are called "Branches of sin" I can recall no use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco in the anime, but a moderate amount of swearing. overall i would say that this anime is a 8.5 out of 10

Violence/Gore:
Fights involving the Branch of Sin power (see the theology notes below) are generously bloody. Some people get stabbed or sliced clean through on-screen, though the very worst (e.g., decapitation) is censored.

Nudity/Sexual Content:
The evidence condemning Ganta in court includes a completely fabricated video of him saying that after killing his classmates, he had sex with the girls' corpses. Later, it's hinted that one character was sexually abused by her father when she was a child. This same character gets sexually aroused from others' pain and has some very crude dialogue.

Potentially Problematic Theological Themes:
A power to shape the user's blood into blades is called "Branch of Sin". Much of the cast fights and sometimes kills their enemies with it.

Other:
Strong language--some words in the dub (I haven't seen the sub) were even censored for broadcast. I recall one passing mention of alcohol and tobacco.
